The Yorkville wrestling club provides athletes with a club singlet and club duffle bag.  These items need to be cleaned and returned at the end of the season.  Athletes must give a $100 equipment deposit check to the club. This is not cashed, but held until the equipment is returned at the end of the season. The club also provides athletes with a club t-shirt that they are allowed to keep.

Wrestlers must provide their own wrestling shoes and headgear.  Wrestling shoes offer more ankle support than traditional shoes and are designed to be lightweight and tight to the foot, promoting freedom of movement.  Headgear can prevent outer ear injuries and bruises during practice and compeition.  Knee pads can also be worn, but this is optional.  Wrestlers with long hair will be required to wear a head cover during their wrestling match.  The singlet is designed to fit tightly so that it does not restrict the movement of either wrestler. Wrestlers can elect to wear tight fitting shirts underneath their singlets.

NOTE:  Care of equipment - We encourage our wrestling families to take good care of our equipment so that it can be used down the line by other wrestlers. PLEASE wash singlets and warm-ups in luke warm or cold water only. NO fabric softener.  Wash them separately.  Do not wash the singlets with black or red cotton shirts, hooded sweatshirts or warm ups.  Do not heat dry the singlets or the warm ups - line dry only.
